Raven Rant:  Crossover Events at the Big Two Comic Companies

In this episode, one book was voted, “BOOK OF THE WEEK” by both Zach & Stu.

Also – one book received the dreaded, “F-” from both Zach & Stu.

AM21AoU10Can you guess which is which?

Which one utilized a cool storytelling technique and which one that isn’t worth the toilet paper its printed on?

Which one acts as a window into an ever-rising comic book writer superstar and which one showcases the sad decline of a former hot writer?

Huh?

Well?!

Can you tell which one is the work of a visionary and which one reads like it was written by a committee of monkeys and is basically one long advertising pamphlet?!

CAN YOU TELL WHICH IS WHICH?

Sigh.

It’s a new episode of the Earth 603 Podcast. Cherish it like you’d cherish a cold popsicle inside a cactus factory: Earth 603 #46

Sorry.  We just pulled up.  We ran out of super fuel.  But we found some more and got a free commemorative glass for our troubles.

Not THESE commemorative glasses. We WISH!

Not THESE commemorative glasses. We WISH!

In this heartwarming episode of the Earth 603 podcast, we talk about stuff.  And things.  And comic books that would be appropriate for kids.  Well, Zach does.  As usual, Stu can’t help slipping in some sort of GWAR meets Sex Pistols OGN that’s OOP from Paraguay.  (As he does.)

SPEAKING of ridiculously cool music from Disney Afternoon video game adaptations – we’re still putting a megaton of our megabucks on the fact that the music from the Moon stage of the Ducktales video game might be some of the best music ever written.  Not just the best video game music – oh, no! – the best MUSIC.  We know, we know – you’ve already jump-started your electric naysaying rod.  WELL STOP!  Just for one god-blasted minute!  Take a listen before you cast the first duck-based stone!

Eh?

EH?

Not too shabby, EHHHH?

Well.  We don’t want to get in your way of listening to this week’s podcast, so let’s wrap things up, YOU KNOW?

It's UNANIMOUS! ALL TWO OF the EARTH 603 OFFICIAL SCIENCE PANEL AGREES: Manhattan Projects #9 is the BOOK OF THE WEEK . . . Well, Book of LAST WEEK. It's the BOOK OF LAST WEEK!

It’s UNANIMOUS! ALL TWO OF the EARTH 603 OFFICIAL SCIENCE PANEL AGREES: Manhattan Projects #9 is the BOOK OF THE WEEK . . . Well, Book of LAST WEEK.

Hi all,

We’re sorry (so, so, so very sorry) for the delay in getting the mellifluous Episode #22 to your hobbity ears until now.  It’s a crazy long episode with an even crazier special guest star.  So we split it into 2 parts – just like we were forced to do with that rapscallion Manager Supreme Rich!

Here’s a list of things Stu & Zach have been doing that have stopped them from publishing the newest episode:

– Stu was in the bayou trying to save the world from The Rot.

– Zach was trying to market, “Mother Russia’s Metal Skin Hair Tonic”.

– Stu was on the road with Dazzler on their, “Radioactive Bubble Review” Tour.

– Zach was trying to convince Cynthia to write a book about, “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”.

– Stu was trying to make the perfect plate of ribs before inevitably getting them knocked on the floor.  So is the circle of life.

New Hampshire's Serengeti

New Hampshire’s Serengeti

– Zach was walking his cats.  Seriously.  He can’t help it.  As soon as the sun comes up, it’s, “Let’s walk the cats!”, “Let’s train for a Cat 5k!”, “Let’s dress up like cats and streak glitter paint on our clothes and prance around the neighborhood!”, “Let’s burn down the abandoned rollerskating rink while we drink the blood of our enemies and sneak up on the mailman and whisper meows into his vacant eye sockets!”  Cliche.  We know.

– Stu was using comic books to try to warn local teenagers about the dangerous side effects of pure love.

Clown Love = Not Groovy

So there you have it.  All valid reasons for our delay.  So drink in Part #1 – Part #2 is right around the corner.  (If, you know, the corner is between 8-20 hours long.)

Drink it up:  Earth 603 episode 22 part 1
